Testimonials

"We just wanted to express how thankful we were to have you as a part of our special day. You were easy and professional to work with, you played beautifully, and we couldn’t have asked for anything better."

Danielle Gallagher (July 2018)

"Thank you for once again leading the Survivor tribute and parade. It was perfect and the pipes add an extra depth of feeling to this part of our ceremonies. Thank you for volunteering your time and talent to help make the Kelowna CIBC Run for the Cure a wonderful event."

Barb Hoy (October 2013)

"Thank you so much for playing so beautifully at our wedding on the long weekend. I am sure that the melodic sound of the Flower of Scotland could be heard down on the water. Auld Lang Syne was Ken's mom's favourite, and unbeknownst to me, The Skye Boat Song was his father's – so the music was even more special than I hoped for. Thanks to your beautiful playing we will hold these tunes in our hearts for years to come."

Ann & Ken MacLeod (September 2013)

"Thanks again for the great job you did at my Dad's memorial service. Lots of people commented on what a nice addition your piping made. If I ever need a piper again in Kelowna I'll sure know who to call."

Jim Arthurs (June 2013)

"I just wanted to thank you once again for playing the bagpipes at our Remembrance Day ceremony today. Your bagpipes always help to make the ceremony extra special for our staff and students. Our principal, Karlisa, always asks me if you're coming, because the sound of bagpipes is particularly meaningful to her. Thanks again!"

Laura Dunwoody (November 2012)

"On behalf of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run For The Cure Committee, I wanted to say thank you again for your support of this year's event. The Piper's role is a very important one, one that certainly draws in the emotion around this very worthy cause. Thanks again for supporting us again this year, your contribution is greatly appreciated."

Ted Duck (September 2012)

"I just wanted to say a very big thank you for helping to make the event a huge success! After the event when we were going through thanking the locals for their donations, I told the group of over 200 how great the local community has been in donating gifts and services, even at the last minute. I went on to tell them how I Googled 'Kelowna Piper', called you at the last minute while I was at the airport, and you said yes without hesitation! You received a big round of applause from the group once I finished the story! I'm sure it is something everyone will most certainly remember! You have a wonderful talent, and looked so great up on the hill, and your music was a brilliant touch to the event.

Thanks again for everything. Let us know if you would like to do it again next year!"

Adam & Laura Stewart (September 2012)

"Thank you so much for playing at our wedding. I am sorry I didn't get to meet you personally, but I heard you and you were wonderful."

Christina Gunn (August 2012)

"The Okanagan community, as a result of your efforts and talent, continues to enjoy the rare distinction of attending this free annual POPS Concert on Canada Day, and has done so since 1994.

It is believed that no other concert of this magnitude, with its diverse music selections, attended by 3,000 to 4,000 music enthusiasts, along with Kelowna’s MP, MLAs and the Mayor of Kelowna, is matched anywhere else in Canada.

The Kelowna Canada Day Concerts Society and I wish to thank you for performing so wonderfully well on this special 2012 July 1st. Canada Birthday Concert.

Enjoy the summer! It’s been a long time coming."

Leonard Camplin CD, FTCL (July 2012)

"It is the Club’s tradition and history to acknowledge each year its Commodore and Fleet. Our ceremonies included the Grand March to the boats led by a piper. Kris did an exceptional job in both appearance and quality of playing. I would not hesitate in recommending Mr. Watt to be included in your ceremonies. Kris added immense value to the formal ceremonies of our 2012 Sail Past event."

Jim Kay (June 2012)

"Thank you so much for making Duncan and Jess' wedding very special. Our guests told us that when they heard the bagpipes, the whole hall was electric. I know that it meant a lot to me as my parents were not able to attend. Being Scottish, when you started to play, I got chills up my spine.

Jess' Mum was in tears when you started to play and was thrilled that you chose to wear the Stewart tartan.

Thanks again for everything!"

Wendy Cook (June 2012)

"Thank you so much for volunteering your time and your talent to help make the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure Kelowna a huge success. Your piping for the survivors was, and is always, the focal point of our ceremonies - you were outstanding! The parade of survivors was a very, very long one (a very proud moment) and I was amazed at your ability to continue piping until the last one crossed the stage. You played an excellent medley as well; I especially loved your choice of Mary’s Wedding in the mix - much more positive and upbeat than a lament or Amazing Grace.

Your contribution to Run Day is greatly appreciated, not only by the volunteers of the organizing committee, but by all in attendance on Run Day - especially the survivors.

Wishing you all the best and thanks again!"

"On behalf of the Downtown Kelowna Association, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to you for participating in the first year of the Downtown Kelowna Fusion Festival and for contributing to the success of the event.

The festival was a huge success with between 15,000 – 18,000 visitors attending the event site throughout the day.

As many changes came with this new undertaking, we greatly appreciate your willingness to participate and we believe that each performer and entertainer made an excellent addition to the festival providing attendees with an exciting, one-of-a-kind experience in Downtown Kelowna.

We hope that you enjoyed your time at the event and, once again, thank you for taking part in the 2011 Downtown Kelowna Fusion Festival. We look forward to working with you again at next year’s festival."

"I had the pleasure of meeting Kris Watt while in the process of planning my mother's memorial service. At the last minute, it crossed my mind that my mother loved the 'pipes' and how great it would be to have them at her service. At very short notice, I contacted Kris, who immediately made himself available for our service. Kris showed up early, and at the request of my father, played prior to the start of the service. Kris accommodated all of our requests and sent my mother off in style. Thank you Kris! It was much appreciated and Mom would have loved it."
